UniSource Energy Corporation has hired Cathy Ries as vice president for human resources. In her new post, Ries will supervise labor relations, employee benefits, and human resources. She will render her services not only to UniSource Energy but also its subsidiaries, UniSource Energy Services (UES) and Tucson Electric Power (TEP).
James S. Pignatelli, Chairman, president and CEO of UniSource Energy, believes that Ries' experience "will help us attract and retain the employees we need to ensure our company's continued success." She has worked for Clopay Building Products Company as vice president of human resources in Tempe, AZ.
New managing director of HR for TCW
Jeannie Finkel has been named the new managing director of human resources for TCW Group, Inc. Finkel, with more than 25 years' experience in human resources and organizational development, will direct the formation and implementation of a broad range of strategies to draw, retain, and develop talent. Along with equity and benefit strategies, she will also be watching over the compensation structures of the firm.
With a B.A. in comparative literature, Finkel served Countrywide Financial Corp. as a managing director of human resources. She has also held the position of senior vice president of human resources at Charles Schwab & Co.
John Staines senior vice president of HR for KB Home
With over 20 years' experience in business and human resources leadership, John Staines has been given the opportunity to serve KB Home. He will be designated as senior vice president of human resources in KB Home, one of the largest home builders in America. In his post, Staines, an MBA, will be overseeing HR for all divisions of the company across 15 states. He will be accountable only to Jeffrey Mezger, the company's president and CEO.
Bridget Atkinson bags HR leadership award
Bridget Atkinson, vice president of human resources and organizational development, GTSI Corp. (R), won the 2007 Excellence in Leadership Award at the Human Resource Leadership Awards GALA. The HR Professional Leadership Awards of Greater Washington identify and honor exceptional human resource leaders who work as business strategists. A member of the Society of Human Resource Professionals, the Employment Management Association, and many other associations, Atkinson had a vital role to play in the HR department of GTSI, a firm providing an enterprise solutions and services.

UTA names new HR VP
The University of Texas at Arlington recently announced Anthony Kinslow as the new vice president for human resources. Presently, Kinslow works at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, as vice president for human resources. Kinslow has a master's degree in international relations, as well as a J.D.
After more than 15 years as a professional, Kinslow practices with expertise in fields like compensation benefits, staffing, diversity, compliance, immigration, workers compensation, employee, and labor relations. A certified senior professional in human resources by the Society of Human Resources Management, Kinslow has received numerous awards.
