Commenting on the new appointment, NCR president and chief executive officer Bill Nuti stated that with NCR spreading its wings worldwide, the human resources team under Ledford's leadership will act as the guiding force in attracting, recruiting, retaining, and developing talent. Moreover, the team will strengthen employee engagement programs in an attempt to motivate every employee to contribute his or her best efforts to improving NCR's business performance. Prior to joining NCR in 2006, Ledford worked for Symbol Technologies, managing human resources matters for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Asia-Pacific region. Susan M. Suver joins U.S. Steel as VP of HR
The United States Steel Corporation has appointed Susan M. Suver as its vice president of human resources. Suver's strategic-development skills will help U.S. Steel attract, develop, and retain skilled professionals, commented John P. Surma, chairman and chief executive officer of U.S. Steel Corporation. Prior to joining the company, Suver served Arrow Electronics and Phelps Dodge Corporation. U.S. Steel is an integrated steel producer and has more than 46,000 employees working in the U.S. and Central Europe.

BPO Management Systems acquires Human Resource MicroSystems, Inc.
Anaheim, CA-based BPO Management Services, Inc., (BPOMS) has acquired Human Resource MicroSystems, Inc., (HRMS), a San Francisco-based provider of human resources software. HRMS's service provider, Corum Group Ltd., is known for providing mergers and acquisitions services to software and information technology companies across the globe. The acquisition will benefit both companies, especially BPOMS, which will add 100 clients to its customer base. More importantly, the move will also aid BPOMS with expanding its on-demand (SaaS) offerings in the human resources field, explained Ward Carter, president of Corum Group.
Ceridian to roll out e-learning services for its clients
Ceridian, a leading name in human resources outsourcing-management solutions, is all set to provide Internet-hosted enterprise learning and development services for its customers. To deliver these services, the company has forged an alliance with GeoLearning, Inc., a leading provider of managed learning services and hosted learning and performance technology.
