Anne Hill will replace Terry Schuler as the senior vice president and chief human resources officer of Avery Dennison Corporation. Schuler is retiring at the end of the year after serving the company for about 28 years. In her new role, Hill will oversee the company's leadership and organizational development, training, compensation, performance management, staffing, employee relations, human resources information system (HRIS), and affirmative action/diversity policies. Confirming the new development, Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer of Avery Dennison, said Hill is qualified for the role as she is equipped with a strong international background and extensive human resources leadership experience. Avery Dennison is a Fortune 500 company that supplies pressure-sensitive labeling materials, office products, retail tags, and ticketing and branding systems.
Teavana to utilize Ultimate Software's UltiPro system
Teavana, a supplier of fresh, high-quality teas and related products, has hired Ultimate Software, a leading provider of end-to-end strategic human resources, to eliminate the company's costly in-house IT support system. The alliance will connect Teavana with Ultimate Software's UltiPro system, which is delivered via its hosted service model Intersourcing. All backups, upgrades, and hardware maintenance for the company will be handled by Ultimate Software. Commenting on the newly formed alliance, Meredith Taylor, HR manager for Teavana, said that nearly 500 of her company's nationwide employees will benefit from the implementation of the self-service, real-time, user-friendly UltiPro system. In addition, the company will benefit from two other major services provided by Ultimate Software: a paperless payroll system and Internet services that facilitate communications between employees.
