Mentoring Solutions elects Joni Nelson to the board of directors
Mentoring Solutions has elected Joni Nelson to its board of directors for the 2007-2008 operating year. Nelson serves as the vice president of human resources for Ilitch Holdings, Inc. In her new role she will be responsible for leading the organization into its fourteenth year by allowing business people to mentor youth across southeast Michigan. Nelson has been associated with Ilitch Holdings, Inc. since September 2004. She has 24 years of human resources leadership experience with companies such as CDI Corporation, Inca Computer Company, Frontier Communications, and Hardees Food Systems. Mentoring Solutions, the 2007 Innovative Mentoring Program of the Year in the state of Michigan, focuses on character and values development, goal setting, and strategic planning among youth.
Kenexa takes over Germany-based HRC Human Resources Consulting GmbH
Kenexa, a well-known provider of talent acquisition and retention solutions, has taken over Germany-based HRC Human Resources Consulting GmbH. Based in Munich, HRC Human Resources Consulting GmbH (HRC) is a leading consulting firm, conducting business-orientated employee surveys in German-speaking countries. The acquisition of HRC will provide additional proprietary content for its current survey and performance management offerings. Moreover, the merger will widen Kenexa’s geographical reach in mainland Europe. Lillian Vernon Corp ties up with Ultimate Software for UltiPro
Lillian Vernon Corp., a multichannel retailer, is “live” on Ultimate Software’s UltiPro, via its software-as-a-service delivery model, Intersourcing. The move was designed to better meet company requirements for a more integrated and scalable solution with web-based self-service. Lillian Vernon previously used separate service bureaus for payroll and human resources, comprising in-house solutions for managing human resources, and even employed two extra platforms for recruitment and benefits functions. With a headcount of more than 3,000 employees during Lillian Vernon’s busiest season, the move will be a welcome relief for the HR personals of the company.
