Job Description:

Assists the AVP in all Human Resources services and activities pertaining to the workplace environment in support of the mission of the University.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Maintains the departments HRIS (Ellucian Colleague), ensuring the employee information is accurate and updated as needed;

Reviews, monitors and pays all University benefit bills. Ensures that participants are added or deleted as necessary and that bills accurately reflect expenses;

Serves as a subject matter expert on HR projects in support of system related issues, changes, updates, and future enhancements. Provides expert level support for problem determination and resolution;

Translates the HR business needs into appropriate and optimal system configurations, and/or, work with University Information Technology to find suitable alternatives. Offers innovative solutions to working within the constraints of the environment;

Works collaboratively with the Human Resources Staff, Finance, and University Information Technology teams to configure, test and implement new functionality leveraging technology;

Develop appropriate systems and procedures to address current and future department needs;

Recommends process improvement strategies to Human Resources Leadership, and other HR functional units, in order to help them streamline their business processes or optimize their use of the enterprise system;

Collaborate with university constituents and academic functions as they are trying to leverage HRIS data and functionality; including reporting, data extracts, and integrations with other specialized technology systems;

Monitors and manages compliance of all existing governmental, labor, legal, and reporting requirements including, IPEDS, 1095's, 5500's, Labor Law Postings, Document Retention, Policy Manual, EEO, ADA, FMLA, DFEHA, the Department of Labor, workers' compensation, OSHA and MA unemployment claims;

In consultation, manages the administration of the University's in house HR software, position classification and salary plan including analyzing the classification of exempt and non-exempt positions, developing accurate and complete job descriptions, conducting salary surveys and analyzing data and assisting to communicate the plan to employees, etc.;

Manages all activities related to Leave Plan Administration, including FMLA, Massachusetts Family and Medical Leaves, Workers Compensation, collaborates with payroll to administer leaves, requesting medical certifications and tracks leave time;

Runs reports, inputs data to CUPA surveys and prepares annual salary worksheets and University employment contracts for staff and administration positions;

Assists with benefits plan design, open enrollments, in the communication and administration of the University's benefit programs to newly hired employees, ensuring that employees are properly informed of the benefit options available to them and that the programs are administered according to plan provisions;

Serves as a Campus Security Authority for Clery reporting purposes and a Responsible Employee for Title IX reporting purposes;

Administer and oversee Tuition Exchange program(s);

Maintain a current and operational knowledge of Human Resources best practices and procedures;

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's Degree, required, but will consider a bachelor's degree with significant related experience;

Must be willing to contribute actively to the mission of the University as well as show respect for the Catholic and Assumptionist identity of Assumption University;

3-5 years human resource experience; higher education experience preferred;

Technology proficiency required;

Superior written and verbal communication skills;

COVID-19 vaccine and booster, required.

Additional Information:

SCOPE:

* Interacts on a regular basis with faculty, administration, staff, and members of the Board of Trustees, several regulatory agencies, and general public.

* Provides initial contact with non-University contacts screening and, in some cases, redirecting inquiries to proper managers.
