The Senior Project Manager work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Digital Transformation: Senior Project Manager will be a key member of a diverse team working across multiple departments and organizations (including, but not limited to, HR, IT, Strategy, and our Retail and Healthcare business segments) to activate and accelerate Humana's digital business transformation. Under the banner of Digital Transformation, the Senior Project Manager can be expected to organize coordinated activities across multiple workstreams including learning, leadership development, organization effectiveness, strategy, talent management, and other areas.
The Senior Project Manager will organize several project workstreams through one holistic plan, manage all aspects of that plan so the team meets important milestones on time and within budget, establish meeting routines that are efficient and effective, and take the lead on preparing regular progress updates for executives and senior leadership. Managing several workstreams through one holistic plan will require the ideal candidate to switch rapidly across active projects, identify efficiencies across workstreams, or highlight critical dependencies that require proactive management.
Keys to success for this role include the ability to communicate effectively, build trust across multiple teams and workstreams and build partnerships across the business. The Digital Transformation: Senior Project Manager is responsible for coordinating execution against the full project plan, proactively identifying any gaps in resources or conflicting priorities, and ensuring the success of the project overall. Ideal candidates will have experience with work assignments that involve complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. This is an empowered individual contributor role reporting to the Associate Vice President of Enterprise Learning.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines; developing project schedules, budgets and forecasts
Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project
Serving as a single point of contact across multiple teams to ensure team actions remain in synergy
Preparing regular project updates, such as four-blocker reports, to communicate progress to key stakeholders
Establishing efficient and effective meeting routines for both project resources, project governance bodies, and senior stakeholders
Designing, communicating, and implementing an operational plan for completing the project; monitor progress and performance against the project plan; take action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays
Identifying the resources needed to complete the project
Required Qualifications:
3 years of project management experience, or any combination of education and experience in a related discipline which would provide an equivalent background
Experience working across a large enterprise with multiple, diverse stakeholders including HR, Learning, IT, Advanced Analytics, and Retail/Healthcare leaders, etc....and just be a little more specific.
Ability to establish credibility and build relationships at all levels of the organization
Exceptional meeting facilitation skills (personal organization, advanced preparation, and follow-up)
Strong analytical and communication skills, both oral and written
An inclusive approach to problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience working as project manager on multi-year, multi-faceted initiatives focused on large-scale cultural change
Prior experience working in an agile team
Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches
