Given the speed and magnitude of change, we have an ambition to develop this competency and skill within our own organisation. This role offers the opportunity to play a leading role in building and optimizing our internal expertise and practice around change and project management in order for Shell to drive efficiency, consistency and impact in our priority change projects. Your team is formed by a number of Strategic Change and Project Management Consultants that will be deployed across Shell’s strategic change projects and initiatives.
In addition, this role manages a team of consultants with deep Leadership and Team Development expertise. Our leaders are pivotal in delivering our strategic ambitions and they face significant complexity and challenge as they navigate the energy transition. You and your team will diagnose the leadership challenges and build leadership capability in order to elevate organizational health and performance.
The Manager Leadership, Team Development & Strategic Change is a leader within the Organisation Development & Learning (OD&L) organization. The role has close functional lines with peer managers who lead the Organisational Development Consultant teams, Centres of Excellence (CoE) of Organisational Development and Leadership Development and the OD&L Managers in the various businesses.
Success will largely be defined by how the work gets done. Guided by data and insights, you will align with various business and functional (e.g. HR, Strategy and IT) stakeholders on the key change and leadership challenges, work as part of diverse and multi-skilled teams, with the common purpose of innovating and enabling our business opportunities through project, organisational and leadership excellence.
What is the role
This position will:
Develop our internal change- and project management capabilities in order to manage strategic change projects in a more effective and consistent way.
Deliver high impact change and leadership expertise in the projects you and your team will be assigned to.
Use data and insights to diagnose need and shape individual and team interventions to bring to life the new mindset and behaviours in the flow of work and increase leaders’ impact on the health and performance of their organisations.
Coach and support your team of strategic change, project management and leadership consultants in the projects they support.
Deliver high impact leadership team development interventions, partnering with Centre of Excellence (CoE) to build validated practice and methodology and build the capability of other team practitioners.
Work in close collaboration with business leaders, OD&L, HR, Organisational Development Consultants, and other specialists to ensure an integrated approach.
Provide support to the CoE to shape necessary changes in the philosophy, strategy, design, and execution of change management and leadership and team development.
As a leader in the OD&L organisation, you also help drive the Global OD and Learning agenda and act as a visible community leader, engaging the wider community, and shaping who we are and how we work in OD&L.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
You will be an experienced and inspirational team leader with extensive experience in:
10 years of experience in establishing and delivering progressively larger and more complex change and organisational development projects.
Designing and leading strategic change projects in complex international organisations.
Leadership and Team Development.
Managing a flexible pool of resources, balancing business demand with people’s experience, development needs and preferences and be passionate about sharing this experience through coaching and developing others
Additionally, you are a Trusted and Credible Advisor with:
A strategic mindset and the ability to partner with senior business leaders (EC, EVPs, VPs)
Strong relationship & stakeholder management skills - experience in working as trusted advisor at senior business leader level on critical, complex challenges.
With profound self- awareness & a natural relationship builder
Coach and to inspire your direct and indirect team members, setting direction and influencing without authority.
Able to adapt style to fit the needs of the situation, an excellent collaborator and credible with partners e.g. HR, ODL and senior business leaders and peers from other specialisms.
Work in high-ambiguity environments where senior leaders may need to be (respectfully) challenged
