Job Summary
Responsible for participating and formulating basic recommendations in the development of long-range compensation and benefit objectives, including sales compensation. Develops and participates in a variety of compensation and benefit surveys to collect and analyze information on the Company's competitive position. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience.
Job Description
This role supports various strategic and tactical activities associated with sales compensation/sales performance programs. Participates in the design, implementation, testing and ongoing support of the sales compensation processes and systems. Supports requirements gathering and elicitation, testing/validation of sales compensation systems and associated overlay tools. Possess experience, subject matter level knowledge and strong analysis skills on sales compensation plans, compensation data, tools, systems and build a solid understanding of sales, HR and Finance systems feeding data to sales compensation. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage the timely execution and accuracy of multiple compensation programs that can recur on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis
Develop relationships with personnel in HQ, Regional field offices in support of activities impacting Sales Compensation (new processes, systems, new products, new data)
Contribute with knowledge of business processes that span multiple areas of the organization, including Sales Operations, Marketing, Training, Finance, and Legal.
Perform financial modeling and people analytics for plan changes and plan enhancements
Possess a strong knowledge of sales, HR and Finance processes and systems that feed data to sales compensation
Support comp plan rollout and training
Participate in design discussions for comp systems (Comp, Reporting, data integration)
Completes assessments of business processes and documents each of the following areas: problem statements, process flows, job aids, user guides
Assess key performance metrics of the sales programs and be able to analyze, interpret and present to senior leadership
Support design, administration and inquiries related to sales incentives/contests and SPIFs
Responsible for enabling efficiencies in operational tasks and analysis through self-service automation tools
Review and research evidence in a non-bias manner in matters related to sales compensation inquiries
Perform recurring and ad-hoc analysis tasks, including assessment, interpretation and reporting, related to Sales Compensation
Participate, support and/or maintain updates to Sales Compensation systems and tools. Updates to the system include:
implementation of new plans/programs
identifying system/process inefficiencies
recommending performance improvement designs
integration of new data sources
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Job Specification:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
Generally requires 3-5 years of sales compensation experience
Prior sales compensation experience either in design, administration or systems implementation (eg: Callidus, Optymyze, Xactly) preferred.
Ability to work with data with a business context
Proficiency in Excel, Access, SQL, Tableau, Data3Sixty or other data analysis tools
Familiar with PowerPoint and presentation experience a plus
Understanding of relational database models a plus
Technology savvy
Self starter and adaptable to shifting priorities
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
