About your team:
IBKR Human Resource department is looking for Payroll and Benefits specialist. The specialist will assist with our global payroll processes, be the point of contact for Canada payroll processing, manage health and welfare benefits administration, process invoices and execute general HR work.
What will be your responsibilities within IBKR:
Assist with the annual open enrollment process and other benefit initiatives. Enroll new employees in Canadian benefits plans, which include health and retirement benefits.
Ensure the accuracy of all benefits enrollments to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. Answer inquiries on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general questions.
Respond to retirement plan (Canadian RRSP) inquiries about enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
Create necessary reports for allocation/billing charges.
Ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of US and Canadian benefits invoicing for assigned carriers, resulting in minimal discrepancies.
Work to improve processes, controls, efficiency, and effectiveness, providing management or other departments with recommendations.
Reconcile global payroll and work with local HR contacts to identify and resolve issues.
Process Canadian payroll and reconcile global companies’ payroll, including timekeeping, timecard auditing, payroll preparation and entry into the ADP payroll processing system, which may include expenses, bonuses, other incentive pay processing, and other payroll uploads; and ensure the accurate balancing of payroll processing.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll updates, including new hires, terminations, and other payroll and benefits changes, including positions, pay rates and enrollments.
Generate monthly or semi-monthly payroll, including but not limited to; re/creating spreadsheets and uploading .csv files, entering retro benefit deductions, garnishment payments and other payroll deductions, confirming payroll cycle, and pulling payroll reports.
Serve as backup to US payroll processor.
General HR
Assist with employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations and offboarding.
Collaborate with the HR department to maintain employee data.
Partner with HR Team on projects as needed
Maintain confidential department records and files.
Which skills are required:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting, Human Resources or a related field.
Two to four years of experience in HR and/or payroll and benefits administration.
ADP Workforce Now,
PHR or Certified Payroll Professional certification is a plus
Experience dealing with payroll-related tax, deductions, withholdings, and payroll law.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, sumifs, pivot tables) are required. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Office 365, is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels of an organization, with the ability to build confidence and trust.
Solid knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
