The Position

The Senior Director Talent Development is responsible for the development and implementation of the European Talent Development Strategy in alignment with our overall Talent Philosophy & Strategy and based on business goals and priorities.

Working directly with business leadership and the European HR team, the Senior Director Talent Development is responsible for enhancing organizational capability and creating a high-performing, sustainable organization that meets its strategic and operational goals. The role has a European scope and covers all population including office, retail and warehouse, with a total of approx. 11.000 associates. 

This position reports into the VP Talent Management, and works in partnership with the heads of Talent Acquisition and Talent Management to ensure an integrated talent management approach. Other key stakeholders are the European HR Leadership team as well as the Global Talent Partners in **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., PVH North America and PVH Asia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements the European Talent Development strategy in line with our Integrated Talent Management Philosophy & Strategy and based on business strategy and goals.
  • Translates Work Force Planning outcomes into company development and learning needs and priorities, ensuring consistency with core competencies, critical skills and strategic goals.
  • Oversees the design, development and implementation of (enhanced) innovative talent development programs and processes to improve depth, quality and engagement of talent across the organization; this includes leadership & associate development, executive development, retail development, executive coaching and mentorship programs. 
  • Overall responsibility for assessing, addressing and closing capability gaps across the organization by analyzing data and recommending solutions, ensuring business leaders maintain a healthy talent bench with a focus on critical roles.
  • Ensures the development, design, and delivery of leadership and associate learning & development solutions to support organizational needs using a blend of methodologies including technology platforms (LMS), self-managed learning, remote delivery, class room and on job learning as appropriate
  • Ensures proper and consistent execution of all training programs and initiatives at all levels, while overseeing the planning, prioritization and development of new training programs and initiatives
  • Drives the continuous evaluation and evolvement of our talent development offer and processes for office and retail associates to improve learner experience and return on investment. 
  • Ensures that our talent development practices support and contribute to PVH’s Inclusion & Diversity commitments and provide equal opportunities and access to development and career progression at PVH Europe.
  • Oversees the development of appropriate talent metrics and tracking mechanism to build accountability, measure results and optimize the impact of programs, processes and initiatives within Talent Development
  • Provides consultation and guidance on matters that drive a culture of high performance and development, collaboration and accountability including but not limited to retention of high performance/ potential talent, development and career progression.
  • Partners across functional areas within the Talent Management Center of Expertise to drive connectivity between development needs and other aspects of the talent lifecycle, ensuring an integrated talent management approach.
  • Leads, develops, coaches and effectively manages an engaged team to ensure service deliverables, performance metrics and talent development priorities are met.
  • Is Part of the European HR Leadership Team and contributes to the development and execution of the European HR Strategy and the evolution of the European HR operating model
  • Partners with the Global Talent teams to ensure global related initiatives are aligned with the PVH Europe strategy and requirements

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Master degree ideally in Psychology, Management, Human Resources or Business Administration;
  • Previous work experience is minimum of 15 years, of which minimum of 7 years in Talent Development (preferably leading a Talent Development function)
  • Proven experience with Talent Acquisition and/or Talent Management, to ensure holistic thinking and an integrated view on Talent Development
  • Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal/influence skills in dealing with all levels of management, develop relationships within the organization, and leverage the formal and informal organizational structure to assist in goal achievement
  • Excellent analytic, problem solving skills, with the ability to take a thoughtful data driven approach to addressing challenges
  • Capable of overseeing, understanding and translating complex challenges and matters into pragmatic solutions
  • Ability to think and act strategically and develop systems, processes and programs that are simple yet effective with the willingness to be hands on.
  • Proven track record in driving systemic and behavioral change within an organization.
  • Deep and expert knowledge of talent development concepts, methodology and industry trends and proven experience in delivering best practices;
  • Able to build effective working relationships with senior level executives, other CoEs and our Global and Local Talent Partners;
  • Great understanding of I&D related concepts and how talent practices should be designed to contribute to I&D commitments.
  • Experience and ability to anticipate and manage change and recommend pragmatic solutions;
  • Excellent leadership skills; ability to effectively lead and develop a high performing team of 10-15 professionals.
  • Can drive continuous improvement of the processes, programs, policies and standards to continuously elevate and mature the Talent Development function;
  • High degree of perseverance in driving results and passion for excellence;
  • Pragmatic and not afraid to roll-up your sleeves;
  • Has worked previously in an international matrix structured complex environment;
  • Excellent project management and planning skills and with your experience in embedding new programs in the organization;
