SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic and engaging Office Assistant 1 / Payroll Assistant Trainee
to work in the Office of Human Resources. SUNY Delhi prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. The Office Assistant 1/Payroll Assistant trainee will prepare and process payroll transactions and related documents, answer standard payroll questions, and provide payroll customer service to agency employees by applying policies, rules, and regulations issued by the Office of the State Comptroller, the Department of Civil Service, and the Division of the Budget. Incumbents are engaged in tasks which require compliance with detailed procedures, the use of multiple computer software programs, and adherence to strict deadlines to ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions to control agencies.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be reachable for appointment on a current permanent Civil Service eligible list for Office Assistant 1 (Beginning Office Worker), or
Must have permanent status as an Office Assistant 1, Grade 6, or
Be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Must have a strong attention to detail
Preferred qualifications:
Outstanding customer service experience
Experience utilizing multiple software platforms
