The Role:
SV Law has an exciting opportunity for a HR Generalist to support our Guelph and Elora offices. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, and as part of the Human Resources Team, the HR Generalist is responsible for, but not limited to, recruiting, engagement and retention, succession planning, performance, compensation and benefits, health and safety, employee policies and procedures, and employee relations.
Responsibilities:
Act as a first point of contact providing guidance and assisting with resolution for management and staff on a variety of HR matters related to employee relations, conflict resolution, communication, progressive discipline, policy interpretation, and attendance management.
Manage recruitment services including succession plans and provide internal and external candidates with a positive and professional recruitment experience.
Conducts terminations and exit interviews
Makes recommendations and contributes to employee engagement initiatives and wellness program with the HRBP (Training, Development & Culture)
Provide guidance and support for the review, development and implementation of HR programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with existing Firm policies and applicable legislation
Prepare reports on various HR metrics
Performance Management Program (development of new system, and continuous management of same)
Participate in performance reviews and wage and salary administration of employees.
Compensation Management - including pay structure and market reviews to ensure industry competitiveness
Manages the administration of the Employee RSP/DPSP program.
Manage and work closely with the Office Services Coordinator in the administration, maintenance, and annual review of all employee benefits programs.
Assist with annual budget preparation.
Active member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee and ensure compliance with applicable legislation and regulations.
Back up for payroll using ADP
Required Knowledge and Experience:
3-5 years of Human Resources generalist experience
College or University Degree
CHRP designation
Exposure to a professional services environment would be an asset.
Self-motivated, detail oriented, and able to work with deadlines.
Exceptional client service orientation with strong judgement and exceptional time management, organizational, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and focused listening skills.
Strong drive for results, sense of urgency, as well as flexibility.
High level of discretion, diplomacy, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality.
Working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now will be preferred.
*This role is a hybrid of remote and in-office working arrangements.
