Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced Reward professional to join our global Reward and Job Evaluation Team. The main purpose of the team is to create and maintain a high-performing organisation culture by delivering programmes that reward and recognise key employee capabilities, skills, behaviours, experience and performance, ensuring reward systems are market-relevant, equitable and cost-effective; and ensuring job level consistency and internal equity across jobs in Shell.
The role will report to the Reward and Job Evaluation Team Manager based in the UK.
The main purpose of this position is to be the subject matter expert for providing executive pay benchmarking for our senior roles, including:
Conducting benchmarking analysis for annual review of executive pay in partnership with our Corporate Rewards team. Specific responsibility for pay benchmarking for our senior roles and nominated subsidiaries’ C-suite remuneration.
Participating in job evaluation for C-suite roles.
Supporting the effective governance of portfolio companies in Shell by advising on the development of their unique reward solutions.
Playing an active role as an expert adviser on Reward matters to the HR business facing teams, especially during events of significant change e.g. M&As, JV activity, subsidiary RemCos etc.
More generally, the role will support the organisation in the design, roll-out and delivery of compensation programmes, projects and strategies. He/she will provide customised metrics, market analysis and pay benchmarking reports as well as seek to understand what other organisations do with respect to reward practices. Additionally the person will help advise on organisational structure design and conduct job evaluation for small or larger scale reorganisations. The post holder will also suggest ideas for reward simplification, standardisation and automation. As one of the more senior members of the team, you will provide global reward consulting advice and coach /support less experienced members of the team for their country portfolios. You will be expected to act with a commercial mindset which drives sustained organisation performance through JE/Reward solutions. The role works in partnership with the team, the HR function and relevant line managers.
Skills and requirements:
• A successful track record in Reward, with proven expertise in executive pay benchmarking.
• Experience of job evaluation would be desirable.
• Experience of senior stakeholder management.
• An effective coach who has demonstrated the ability to support and develop others in their community of practice.
• Experience of leading Reward-related project activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Degree level education or equivalent.
