Job Description:
We are currently looking for an experienced analyst with strategic thinking, an eye for detail and a strong project management skills to join our Corporate Reward Center of Expertise in HR as an Executive Remuneration Analyst.
In this role you will be providing support across a range of reward matters relating to the Executive Directors, Executive Committee, Senior Executives and Shell’s share plans. You will be responsible for working across a range of projects, data analysis, and project management, including for example preparing data for external disclosures such as the Directors’ Remuneration Report, preparing benchmarking analysis for proposals for the Board’s Remuneration Committee and supporting remuneration related engagements with shareholders.
Accountabilities
Support Senior Management and Senior Executive (SE) policy related review and improvement (including analysing pay data, preparing analytics, modelling and scenario testing) etc.
Supporting execution of Board, Executive Director and Executive Committee (EC) pay processes (including as required, the review and benchmarking of compensation, review of payslips and expenses, preparation of budget information for finance, performance measure updates for share plan awards, preparation of emoluments forms etc).
Support with ongoing external and internal compliance e.g. audits and governance guidelines. Including supporting training to PAs of Board, EC and SEs regarding the reporting requirements and expense policy and act as a focal point for queries related to the policies.
Support preparation of external analytics and communications including drafting Directors’ Remuneration Report data tables and analytics and amending the narrative as well as supporting preparation of shareholder and media engagement materials.
Support preparation of internal communications as required, including EC bonus letters.
Additional ad-hoc project work as required.
Skills & Requirements
Ideal candidate to be highly numerate, financially literate and have affinity with data and proven experience in an analytical role.
Strong proficiency in the use of Excel (storing and presenting data, processing and analysing data, modelling and scenario testing).
Competence in accounting principles and terminology - understanding of accounting methods, financial metrics would also be advantageous but not a prerequisite.
Understanding of reward and/or executive compensation is advantageous but not a prerequisite..
Accuracy and close attention to detail are essential.
Analytical, diagnostic and investigation skills - problem solving and breadth of thinking along with an inquisitive mindset are a requirement.
Ability to offer advice/alternatives, as opposed to just providing a response.
Concise and clear written and presentational communication style
Must be highly collaborative and effective at partnering with colleagues as the role has high interaction with stakeholders in different businesses/functions and ability to achieve goals through others.
Resilient under pressure. Delivery under highly pressurised conditions and managing sensitive information effectively is crucial. The period between October and March is a particularly concentrated period.
