Position Summary
The Human Resources (HR) Manager functions as the unbiased voice of UA and is responsible for applying HR policies, procedures, and programs in their country. They support employees and guide the escalation, redirection, or resolution of HR-related questions and requests appropriately. They are also responsible for developing and implementing an employee relations program to effectively and consistently deal with complaints, investigations, and performance issues to promote positive employee relations. Our goal is to gain a better understanding of team dynamics and provide solutions to improve team functioning. We proactively address systemic root cause issues that prevent us from meeting our organizational goals. We do that by leading focus groups, providing performance coaching, and looking into teammate complaints and concerns. We deal with complex, high-risk, and/or sensitive individual and team-related issues, and make recommendations for solutions to address workplace issues with the goal of promoting an inclusive workplace that is free of discrimination and harassment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Remain well-versed in HR regulatory and UA HR Policy knowledge and stays informed of changes in both areas
Act as the first point of contact to employees, government authorities, banking entities, or any local entity for HR-related questions and requests. Internally, guides the escalation, redirection, or resolution as appropriate, with empathy, while being pragmatic and consistent with standards and guidelines. Externally, represents Under Armour on special events, chamber of commerce, the signatory for any/all government or benefit related requests, etc.
Manages country or local ad-hoc requirements by government and labor authorities
Develops, implements, reinforces, and modifies HR policies, programs, and procedures
Audits HR policies, programs, and procedures against relevant legislation and best practices and recommends improvements
Researches and gathers information to support HRBP
Directly leads investigations, teammate complaints, and organizational concerns with minimal oversight, except those involving executive leaders
Provides expert advice, counsel, and direction to leaders (Sr. Director and below), and HR Business Partners regarding best practices, policies, and employment laws (in partnership with the Company’s In-house Employment Counsel)
Identifies and supports in strategically managing systemic root cause issues through the alignment of the team and individual goals, leadership capabilities, change management efforts and/or change in strategic direction objectives
Recommends internal and external services and resources that resolve gaps that prevent us from meeting our organizational objectives
Supports and coaches Managers in developing, delivering, and monitoring Performance Improvement Plans and reviews complaints or concerns from teammates regarding the process
Provides consultation to managers during mid and end-of-year performance review process
May serve as a mediator in managing conflict resolution and addressing challenging team dynamics. Conducts conflict resolution sessions, and addresses challenged team dynamics
Creates and delivers team intervention work including New Leader Assimilations, Focus Groups, and Listening Sessions as needed
Conducts exit interviews and reviews exit survey data to identify trends, and offers recommendations for improvement to culture
Supports and coaches managers in delivering and executing the corrective action process
Drives consistency in policy and its application based on intelligence gathered from facts and trends

Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively disseminate information in a clear and concise manner
Effective in a matrix environment, with the ability to prioritize work-load with multiple cross-functional partners
Ability to work well both independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Language capabilities
Education And / Or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
Minimum of six (6) years of experience in a human resource function, preferably one (1) year in an HR Business Partner (HRBP) or employee relations role
Direct employee-facing experience
Knowledgeable in labor laws and regulations
Other Requirements
Location:
This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Mexico City office
Work-Life Integration Designation:
Two (2) days a week in-office, the remainder of work week remote at home
