GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs Human Resources related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in the functional areas of employee relations, training and labor relations. The ACC Consultant is responsible for the day-to-day administration of HR function including the administration of policies, procedures and programs. The incumbent will work with leaders and employees, to ensure understanding of policies, procedures and benefits.ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Provides guidance and counsel to leaders and employees on a wide variety of Human Resources policies, procedures, compensation and benefit matters, laws, standards and government regulations.Advises leaders on the proper course of action related to employee performance management issues.Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.Represents the company for any unemployment claims.Manages conflicts and diffuses tensions among employees.Partners with HR business partners to support the implementation of strategic initiatives, such as employee recognition programs, total rewards, and talent management.Investigates, answers, and settles appeals and/or grievances by arranging and scheduling hearings between employees, supervisor and the leadership team.Responds to all EEOC and/or NLRB charges.Maintains working relationship with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.Manages the grievance process by preparing for mediation and arbitration and testifying, if required, for cases that move to arbitration.Supports HR business partners to identify training solutions for business units and individual coaching needs; this may include providing assistance with on-site training and development courses, including new hire orientation.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONSA bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field.A minimum of three (3) years of Human Resources experience, including employee relations, labor relations and talent management.PHR, SPHR or other human resources certification preferred.Other Qualifications:Proven strong foundation and knowledge of principles and practice of HR, including employment law and compliance requirements.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office.Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.Exceptional time management.Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues.Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues.Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.
