Description
The Benefits Analyst at Humana implements and supports the accounting services for our associate benefit programs. The day-to-day activities assist with administering, reporting, auditing, and the annual testing of all corporate employee benefits include health, welfare, and defined contribution plans such as Humana's 401k and HSA associate accounts. The Benefits Analyst will pay invoices and oversee monthly journal entries for benefits accounts.
Responsibilities
The Benefits Analyst works with auditors to complete annual audits of the 401k plans. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications
Accounting Experience
Proficient Excel experience
Ledger experience
2 years technology experience in HR/Finance
Detailed oriented and love to work in details daily
1-2 years of payroll or customer service experience a plus
Ability to respect the confidentiality nature of human resources work
Excellent written and verbal communication
Provide great customer service
Can work independently
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
401(k) audit experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related subject area
An understanding of HIPAA, ERISA, COBRA, Internal Revenue Code (as they apply to health and welfare plans) and other statues governing employer sponsored benefit plans.
Additional Information
This position is hybrid and reports in-office 2 days a week to our Louisville, KY office on-site. Office days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays with office hours occurring between (7:30am-5:30pm ET) There is flexibility with arrival/departure. Monday, Thursday & Friday are remote days at home.
Vaccine Policy
Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field. Work-At-Home Requirements:
WAH requirements: Must have the ability to provide a high speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in the state of California will be provided payment for their internet expense.
A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 25x10 (25mpbs download x 10mpbs upload) is required.
Satellite and Wireless Internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
