In this highly visible role as a Talent Management Consultant in the Americas Region, you will support two critical client groups the US Market and Medtronics global Technical Talent pool. This position reports directly to the Talent Management Director (TMD) of the Americas Region.
**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
We deliver our talent solutions through strong talent mastery, performance enablement and culture stewardship. We do this by aligning business strategies against our talent and co-designing localized talent strategies to build our succession pipelines, accelerate talent readiness, increase inclusion and diversity and retain top talent. A strong consulting partnership with HR Business Partners, senior leaders and technical communities is the foundation of success.
Typical responsibilities will include:
**Talent Mastery**
Act as strategic partner to senior leaders and HR Business Partners to proactively diagnose organizational, talent and culture needs and subsequently create and lead impactful regional talent strategies that enable business success.
Provide strategic vision and execution of talent management and development for technical talent across the company (R&D, Engineering), which is inclusive of a specialized focus on early career tech talent.
Enable objective differentiation of talent based on capabilities, potential, behaviors and aspirations.
Ensure retention of critical talent pools and continuity of our diverse leadership pipelines.
Create/refine succession plans, identify talent needs and development actions to accelerate successor readiness.
Accelerate slating, onboarding and development of Vice Presidents.
Play an active role in serving as a backup for the TMD when needed to represent broader organizational needs.
Consult, coach/mentor and share talent management & leadership development best practices.
**Enterprise Performance Enablement**
Facilitate leadership team discussions to translate annual business priorities and leadership behaviors that drive clarity and accelerate performance.
Enable rigorous enterprise performance management process through strategic consultation to consistently and objectively evaluate employee performance.
Be a thought leader on career development strategies.
Deploy talent management solutions and services to business leaders, managers and employees.
Serve as program owner across technical communities to drive the technical talent priorities. Including serving as a liaison between the HR COEs to support the technical talent strategy.
**Culture Steward**
Serve as a liaison between Global Talent & Leadership Development (GTLD) and Technical Communities.
Identify gaps in female and ethnically diverse representation, defining mitigating actions and embedding these actions in the talent strategy.
Drive senior business leader engagement and accountability as owners of Medtronics inclusion and diversity efforts.
Champion and embed the Medtronic Mindset to Act Boldly, Compete to Win, Move with Speed and Decisiveness, Foster Belonging and Deliver Results the Right Way.
Partner closely with Global Talent and Leadership Development COE to design programs and tools that meet the unique needs of the business, and deploy targeted solutions as needed (i.e. assessment, coaching, talent acquisition, analytics, etc.), incorporating the Medtronic Cultural Norms.
Leverage the Organizational Health Survey to measure engagement gaps and define mitigating actions to be embedded in the talent strategy.
**Must Have: Minimum Requirements**
Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of Human Resources experience (Talent Management, Change Management or Organization Development/Effectiveness consulting is equivalent to HR experience), OR Advanced Degree and 8 years of experience
**Nice to Have**
Masters degree (I/O Psychology, MBA, or MA Human Resources)
Experience supporting commercial and/or technical organizations
Subject matter expertise and facilitation experience in talent planning, performance management, talent review and succession planning, competency modeling/role profiling, and culture, inclusion and diversity strategy implementation for a global, matrixed organization
Project management experience with ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience in program/process design, as well as process improvement
Change Management or Organization Development/Effectiveness experience
Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, proactive consultation to senior leaders
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
Experience taking data analytics and turning into insights / action plans
Solid understanding of external talent landscape and best practices
Experience with HR systems such as Workday
Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
