Employee Relations Attorney
Responsibilities: Provides advice and counsel on employment law issues, including hiring, discipline, terminations, pay and benefits. Directs investigations surrounding employee-related issues and provides advice to company management regarding resolution. Advises company management on employee-related matters and issues. Includes review and recommendations on policies, procedures and legal requirements. Recommends measures to achieve compliance with legal requirements enacted by various governmental entities. Creates and participates in training for business partners. Responds to and defends government claims (i.e., EEOC charges, wage and hour investigations, etc.). Responds to employee and former employee complaints presented through private attorneys. Manages and directs outside counsel in all employment-related litigation. Produces discovery documents and acts as liaison with company witnesses. Participates as corporate representative / witness in mediations, hearings and trials. Formulates and directs litigation strategy. Occasional out-of-town overnight travel to attend mediations and trials and as otherwise may be necessary to perform the essential functions of the job.
