■ THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
This position is ideal for an experienced compensation analyst who can help design and implement innovative human resources programs and systems which anticipate and respond to organizational issues and that are employee-service oriented.
The ideal candidate will possess:
» Experience assisting management with developing innovative solutions to a broad range of classifcation, compensation, attraction, and retention issues.
» Strong knowledge of classifcation and compensation theory and practices and experience with a comprehensive and complex classifcation and compensation program.
» Experience determining equitable compensation for employees and understanding market pay, benchmarking, and compensation principles.
» Excellent verbal and written communication skills including experience visualizing data and communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
■ QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with major course work in business administration, mathematics, human resources, or a related feld.
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience developing and delivering human resources programs and services with a focus on classifcation and compensation, including some supervisory experience.
Designation as a certifed compensation professional (CPP) is desirable.
■ POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Compensation Analyst will strategize, evolve, and implement a market-leader compensation and total rewards program that attracts and retains diverse talent.
» Provide technical leadership to modernize and maintain SANDAG’s classifcation program to refect the types of positions and skills sets needed to support the agency’s work program.
» Consult with supervisors and managers, and conduct market research, to create and/or revise class specifcations and to assist with the evaluation of reallocation and reclassifcation requests for positions and/or employees to help ensure fairness and consistency throughout the agency.
» Develop, implement, and maintain procedures for ensuring the consistency and accuracy of classifcation information and compensation data in SANDAG’s systems and records.

■ COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The Senior Compensation Analyst position has a salary range of $75,749-$117,411 per year.
